ALL GOALIE OPENINGS FILLED
Posted Wednesday, August 13, 2009 by The Ref

The goalie positions on all 10 Overlea Fall Lacrosse teams have been filled. Any goalie applications recieved after today will be placed on a waiting list on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration checks for any goalie placed on the waiting list will not be cashed.

There is an outside chance that the league may expand to 12 teams if there are a significant number of late registrations which would create four more goailie openings. At this time, however, the league plans to field only 10 teams.

WELCOME TO OVERLEA FALL LACROSSE LEAGUE HOME PAGE
Updated Wednesday, May 13, 2009 by The Ref

This is the home page for the Overlea-Fullerton Recreation Council's Fall Lacrosse League.

Still going strong after more then 20 years, the Overlea Fall Lacrosse League is the premiere fall lacrosse league for high-school aged players in Maryland. Located just North of Baltimore City along the I-95 corridor, the Overlea Fall League attracts many of the best high-school lacrosse players from Maryland and beyond.

The league is a favorite of local players looking for an opportunity to keep their skills sharp in the off-season. The relaxed atmosphere, mix of skill levels and the variety of schools represented on each fall league team gives older players the opportunity to show their skills and help mold younger players and younger players the chance to try their hand against some of the best Varsity players from area high-schools.

The coaches in the Overlea Fall Lacrosse program are a mixed group of former players and local coaches with years of lacrosse experience. These coaches are volunteers and most return year after year to help in whatever way they can. While our coaches are knowledgeable and do what they can to help players in the league to learn and grow, this is not a league for novice players. There is only one planned practice day followed by 8 weeks of games. This environment gives coaches limited opportunities to help those completely new to the sport. As such, a minimum of a few years of lacrosse experience is STRONGLY recommended for all players.

If this league sounds like it is for you, an application can be found here on this website. All league games are played on Sunday mornings between September and November culminating in a post-season all-star game for outstanding players selected from all the teams. Again, this is a high-school aged boys league for players with prior lacrosse experience.

See you in the fall!
